Consumer Assistance Program

The program provides two primary services:

  1. Repair Assistance: Income-eligible vehicle owners whose cars have failed a biennial Smog Check can receive financial aid for emissions-related repairs. The assistance amounts are:

Eligibility for CAP depends on factors such as household income, vehicle ownership, and the vehicle's Smog Check history. Applications can be submitted online through the BAR's website.
